Fabrication Lab Equipment:
- Hand Tools
- Machine Tools
- Mechanical Fasteners
- Sheet Metal Tools
- Toolboxes for sign-out to project locations
- Welding
- Woodworking Tools
Research, Teaching, and Extension Support:
- AutoCAD Drawings
- Design & manufacture of test equipment/prototypes
- Design for safety
- Engineering analysis of fasteners, supporting structures, equipment
size
- Integrating projects with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and computer
systems
- Laboratory organization, design, and setup
- Materials selection, location of suppliers/vendors and specialty fabricators
- Use, setup, and programming of computer data acquisition systems (LabVIEW)
Engineering/Project Planning Needs:
- Maintaining shop supplies, inventories, equipment
- Managing fabrication areas and coordinating tool usage
- Organizing and locating previous project components
- Project cost/time estimation
