RULES FOR NABEC STUDENT PAPER COMPETITION

AGRICULTURAL AND BIOLOGICAL ENGINEERING/ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY

 

1. ELGIBILITY; Contestant must be an undergraduate in Agricultural and Biological Engineering or related curriculum.

2. CONTENT; Technical Agricultural and Biological Engineering Subject. Could be a class term problem if well prepared.

3. FORMAT

a. Title Page; On the first page of the entry shall be stated the title of the paper, full name of the contestant, name of school, and name of the staff member who served as adviser for the paper. A signature block containing the signature of the contestant. Student branch faculty adviser (department head if no student branch exists) and the date of signing shall be included at the bottom of the title page.

b. Second Page; The second page of each paper shall be a statement of how the subject of the paper was chosen and whether the paper is a library research paper or a report of experimental work in which the author was involved. In the case of the latter, the extent to which the author contributed to the work shall be stated. Since the rules contemplate only individual entries, mention of any co-authors or co-workers should be made on this page.

c. Organization of Paper; Papers will not be required to follow any specific outline or be in any particular form. Presentation should follow a logical pattern and conform to good engineering paper or technical written standards.

d. Grading System; Papers shall be graded according to the following schedule of points shown in the scoring sheet.

NATIONAL COMPETITION


Papers are presented according to the above format may be entered in National Competition by submitting three copies to ASABE Headquarters before April 15 of the following year. To enter the National Competition, the student must be a student member of ASABE.
